• Some shuls may allow cash payments directly to the shamash — if so, this must be clearly marked.

11. Google Calendar Integration

Shuls and fundraisers may optionally connect their Google Calendar to Appeal Bookings from the My Calendar page. This section explains how we access, use, and protect Google user data as part of that feature.

• Data Access: If you choose to connect your Google Calendar, we access only your primary Google Calendar and your Google account email address (to show which account is connected). We request the calendar.events scope only, which lets us create, update, and delete calendar events — we do not read, list, or access any of your existing events or other calendars.

• Data Use: We use this access solely to create an event on your primary Google Calendar for each of your confirmed bookings on Appeal Bookings, and to remove that event if the booking is later cancelled. Your Google account email is used only to display your connected account on the sync settings page.

• Data Transfer: We do not share, sell, or transfer any Google Calendar data or your Google account information to any third party. This data is exchanged only directly between Appeal Bookings and Google, on your behalf.

• Data Protection: Your Google access and refresh tokens are stored securely on our servers, encrypted at rest and in transit, and access is restricted to the systems that perform the calendar sync.

• Data Retention & Deletion: We retain your Google access and refresh tokens only for as long as your Google Calendar connection remains active. You can disconnect at any time from the My Calendar page, which immediately deletes your stored tokens from our systems and stops all further access to your Google account.

Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
